Netiquette and Security

Netiquette is a combination from a word which is Net + Etiquette that can be defined as the correct or acceptable way of communicating on the Internet. Its requires to never forgetting that at the other hands of connection is a person. And that, by using a proper words (etiquette) in communicating or posting in the internet is the best way to prevent from any offended feeling from others user. Ones need to be more alert while using the internet, there's netiquette guidelines to the internet users in order to make sure they are in the right track using the internet.

Guidelines ( Do's and Dont's):  

1. Do not capitalize everything it looks like you shouting at people. 
2. Criticism can be worst, we cannot interpret others mind wheres they meant to say otherwise.
3. Pay attention to language issues, in a group or forum we need to use appropriate, proper, and, good language, if not, we can be kicked out permanently from there.
4. Think before posting, remember on what your posting online today, if there's any unsatisfied feeling occur, it will comeback and hunt you down.
5. Avoid Humor, at some point, people will not understand at all about your joking stuff, instead, you can use emoticons such as :) happy  :( sad  :P cheeky  :0 surprised.
6. Reply Quickly, people tend to get a reply within a day after posting or email to others.
7. Multiple recipient, don't send secret email to a group of recipient, you probably send email that others people not really suitable to read the content in your email. 
8. Keep personal information private, by posting your personal information in wrong location will cause a bad consequences to your self in future. 
9. Obey copyright laws, don't steal others without any permission.
10. Be aware of cyber bullying, if you been targeted by cyber bully, do not respond, it will ruin your life. 
11. Password management: 

•  Do not use your login name.
   Do not use your first, middle, or last name.
   Do not use other information easily obtained,birth date, plate numbers,telephone numbers.
   Do not use a password of all digits or all the same letter.
   Do not use a password shorter than six characters.
   Do use a password with mixed-case alphabetic.

  •        Internet security is a branch of computer security specifically related to the Internet. Its objective is to establish rules and measure to use against attacks over the Internet. While you surfing the internet, the basic security measurement is required in order to protect your internet is by well selected passwords, change of file permissions and backup of computer's data.

Introduction to an online tertiary sector

        E- learning can be define as a electronically supported learning and teaching which people access it via technology in classroom or out of classroom. The content are being uploaded via the Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV, and CD-ROM. It can be self-paced or instructor-led and includes media in the form of text, image, animation, streaming video and audio. Thus, E-learning applications and processes include Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual education opportunities and digital collaboration. 

E-learning in Malaysia
In early 90s E-learning were been introduce by the prime minister at that time Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, however, at that time of period, considerable was occur regarding to the changing of economic and education in Malaysia. Luckily, in 1996, the E-learning method of learning was been introduced at the public universities and also been introduced in Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad 2020 visions. A part from that, government at that time has built a Multimedia Super Corridor and the privatization of tertiary education. Thus, since then, E-learning is widely been introduce and is encourage to be practice to the organizations and education institution.Nowadays, a lot of education institutions making their E-learning portal look interesting which they want to interact the students interest to the method.
